Senona

Sedona was really beautiful. We stayed for a week. The first night we stayed in a grocery store parking lot cuz they had free wireless that we could pick up from the van.  The next night and every night after we drove out of Sedona 5 minutes or so to Red Rock Canyon road and parked on this little hill off the road in the middle of the desert.  It was really beautiful and you could see tuns of stars.  Every night we would rent a movie and head out to are spot, make diner and then get in bed and watch our movie on the laptop.
We went to 4 different ruins from the Sinagua people who lived there 700 years ago.  It was amazing that they were still standing. Some of them you could walk into if you were careful not to touch the walls. The last day I went out horseback riding and had a really nice time, although I think my but is bruised. The man who took me was really cool and knew allot about horses.  You could tell he really loved them and had allot of respect for them.  Before we went to Sedona we went through Phoenix and ended up spending 2 nights because we broke down on the freeway when trying to leave.  The car lost power and was smoking like crazy.  We got it towed but had to wait till the next day to get it fixed. A few hours before that we watched as a beautiful big white dog got hit in front of us. We pulled onto a side street because we where both so upset just in time to see a man throwing up in his yard. To say the least I am not a fan of Phoenix. Tonight we're in Flagstaff and probably going to be here for a day or two to let Jeremy work on the next episode.

Five Palms Desert Oasis

Five palms desert oasis is just what it sounds like, an oasis in the desert where the only thing around for miles if five palm trees. We drove for a while out of a small town called Brawley and then turned down a dirt road and went until we got to a group of palm trees. it was dusk so we made dinner and then walked down the road to the pond. When we arrived at the pool the local frogs jumped in but once we where in for a while we could most of them, 12 or more. They all started croaking and chirping.  It was so nice and I stayed in till my fingers where wrinkly, then crawled out and went to bed.

The Salton Sea

The Salton Sea was the most desolate place ever, very strange.  We stopped at a park area near the water and Jeremy and I went walking along the water, gross. the sand or what should be sand was all these little barnacle like things like sea shells or something but ones I had never seen before.  there where tons of fish heads and fish bones too.  It was a very weird place full of death.
The only thing that was alive out there were a few huge pelicans and some palm trees. We went into a town called Bombay Beach, all it had were mobile homes and a huge cell phone tower.  It was the sort of place where a horror movie would take place.  That Night we stayed at an RV place that had hot Springs mineral baths. That was really nice and we met some nice old people from Minnesota that winter in that RV park.  The next day we went to a place called Slab City.
It was the RV city in the movie Into The Wild where the main character stays and meets a girl.  We also went to a place from the movie called Salvation Mountain next to Slab city which is a crazy piece of art dedicated to god.  A really cute  little old man built it and gave us a tour, told us a number of times how exited he was that the movie had brought so many visitors. It is a mountain made out of hay bales, adobe,  paint and other found objects like car doors and windows all of which he found out in the desert. I am glad that I had a chance to see this area but I probably will never go there again.

The desert and Hot Springs

We left L.A last night at about 7:00 and drove to a town called Desert Hot Springs which is next to palm springs. We are spending the day hear so Jeremy can edit and we can go to the hot springs later. We found a place that lets you come in for the day for $3 dollars and it is open till 10:00, sweet. Last night felt like the first night of really being on the road because we don't really have any one we are staying with until New York. We will probably find a few people on couchsurfer.com to let us use there shower along the way. Last night we drove around till we found open wireless and then watched movies on my computer till we wanted to go to bed. What a hard life. Tomorrow we are going to drive around the Salton See and hit up another Hot spring that is off some dirt road and it is just a hot pond under some palm trees and in the middle of the desert. My kind of place.

L.A

I have been in L.A for 2 days and saw a famous person(Tim Roth) in the first 5 minuets we where walking around. We went to Venice beach today and spent the day walking around and looking at all the street vendors. Makes pacific Ave look tame. On the way to Venice beach we passed a man and his young son standing alone on the side of the freeway as there truck burned. It spoke to me of the mentality of L.A that no one stopped to see if he was ok or anything. I can see some of the charm of L.A but there is something unsettling about it at the same time.
We have been staying with Jeremy's cousin and she had been a fabulous hostess and has a extra bed for us to stay in so that has been nice.We will probably be hear a few more days. Are next stop is the Salton See.

Big Sur

Big sur was so beautiful and we had an amazing time exploring. We saw an octopus, and elephant seals that where the size of 2 refrigerators! There was also an huge waterfall and really cool huge rocks. the pictures dose not do justice to the size and power of the waterfall.
Now we are in LA but I will right about that later.
